Sponsored by the Transdisciplinary Geographical Management (GMaP) and Minority Biospecimen / Biobanking Geographical Management (BMaP) Programs of the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
Scientists, researchers, and CURE trainees from our G / BMaP Region 4 (Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wyoming) and across the United States were invited to participate in this exciting two day workshop.
The workshop featured experts who provided critical information on utilizing biospecimens, common obstacles and solutions for translational research, Internet and database tools, and ethics of biospecimens research.
Attendees gained hands-on-experience accessing The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) datasets and obtained training on how to do in-silico experiments, as well as hands-on-training in analysis of DNA methylation data, and gene expression data analysis.
