Dr. Kevin Lombard is an associate professor of horticulture in the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at NMSU. He also serves as the superintendent of the NMSU Agricultural Science Center (ASC) in Farmington. His research interests include evaluating specialty horticultural crops, arid-land farming and wise use of limited water resources including urban ornamental plant selection.
Dr. Lombard joined the PACR team in 2010 as an investigator on a pre-pilot project and is currently a lead investigator on a full project examining healthy eating and gardening as an intervention for children and families in the Navajo Nation.
Dr. Lombard earned his Ph.D. in agronomy from New Mexico State University.
