Bio:
Dr. Mary Alice Scott is an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at NMSU. Her research interests include critical ethnographic analysis of health, health care, and health policy in the United States, with particular focus on the U.S.-Mexico border region.
Dr. Scott joined the PACR team in 2018 as a lead investigator on a pilot project analyzing social determinants of health in primary care. She now serves as the REACH Core Lead at NMSU. In addition to her research with PACR, Dr. Scott also serves as adjunct research faculty at Memorial Medical, the graduate director for her department, and is working on a number of other research projects.
Dr. Scott earned her Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Kentucky.
