Bio:
Tamara Stimatze (she/they), MS, PhD, is an assistant professor in Public Health Sciences at New Mexico State University, the co-lead of the NMSU Cancer Outreach Core, and co-PI for the EQQUAL-NM (Empowered Queer QUiting and Living – New Mexico) full project, funded by the U54 PACR. Dr. Stimatze is an experimental psychologist researching social, cultural, and structural factors impacting LGBTQIA+ individuals' health using an intersectional lens. Dr. Stimatze has a particular interest in cancer prevention for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Her goal is to identify and target social, cultural, and structural barriers to health and well-being for LGBTQIA+ communities through culturally adapted, inclusive, and representative programming.
